How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

 

I used media technologies in the planning and research stage to achieve all the results we needed for the research. For example, we used Survey Monkey to create a survey in which to work out which film genres and types were most popular among various types of people. Ultimately, what this did was allow us to find out exactly who our target audience is and what they want. We already knew we were going to make a social realism genre film and by using media technologies we were able to directly find out what fans of the social realism genre like and want a film of that genre to be like. With this we also managed to work out the specific codes and conventions that were most popular in these films and most popular among the audiences. But, via this, we were able to use this information to make sure that the plot of our film wouldn't be too obvious.

 

I used media technologies in the construction stage to​ market my film by using social media in order to advertise it and make it look like it was coming from a professional company. Furthermore, without media technologies i probably wouldn't have been at all possible to distribute my film either. This is because I uploaded it to YouTube and used that to showcase the film. If I didn't use the media technology of YouTube I'm pretty sure I would have been unable to put my film on this website if it hadn't been for that very important and vital use of media technology. I also used media technologies to construct my film by putting initial versions of the film on YouTube and letting people comment on them meaning we were able to gain feedback with which to improve the film. This was very beneficial to us as it meant we could change our film and improve it to how it should be so when we finally uploaded the final one it would most likely be as good as we could make it.

 

I used media technologies in the evaluation stage to​ show my use of varied media types and software. I did this to show an overall representation of my ability to use modern technology. For example, I used YouTube to embed and show examples of video which I might have referred to to back up my text. However, I also used other media technologies to improve my evaluation by showing my wide range of mixed media abilities. On part of the evaluation I decided not to use Wix.com to type out my answer and display the text. Instead I chose to use Prezi to create a presentation slideshow on which to showcase my answer. This made it more interested and different from what I had done for other parts of my evaluation answers. Furthermore, I was able to use another media technology and input that into the Prezi presentation. I uploaded and embedded images into the sideshow to better show what I meant and so to explain what I may have been referring to. As a result, media technologies helped me greatly to improve my evaluation and show a higher standard of media technological ability.
